YEREVAN. – The Azerbaijani delegate once more showed their destructive approach of the precept of completely erasing history in accordance with the political preferences of its state.

Armen Ghazaryan, Head of the State Migration Service of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Development of Armenia, stated about the aforementioned in response to the Azerbaijani representative’s address at the 69th Session of the Executive Committee of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), which is held in Geneva, Switzerland.

Ghazaryan stressed that Armenia adheres to the UNHCR’s call for not politicizing the given platform and considering the matters in a humanitarian context, the ministry informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Also, he informed that Armenia has accepted around 400,000 refugees as a result of the Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) conflict, and noted that the overwhelming majority of them have successfully integrated into Armenian society. The Armenian State Migration Service head added that Azerbaijan, on the other hand, keeps its refugees in a prolonged refugee status, in an attempt to use them for political reasons.

In addition, Armen Ghazaryan said Armenia will continue accepting refugees from Syria, and making efforts to providing them international protection in the country.
