Luanda - The Minister of Youth and Sports, Rui Falcão, and Cape Verde's Ambassador to Angola, Júlio de Morais, on Wednesday discussed strategies for the Community of Portuguese-speaking Countries (CPLP) Games to be held in East Timor from July 17 to 25.
At the end of the meeting, Rui Falcão told the press that this was another of the meetings he has been holding with the African countries of the Community to unite synergies in view of the event.
The minister said that the aim of the talks was to reduce the difficulties that arise in competitions of this kind, in order to ensure that each delegation has a dignified participation.
Júlio de Morais on his turn said that the meeting was based on Cape Verde's interest in deepening relations with Angola.
The CPLP Games were established in 1990 through a Multilateral Cooperation Agreement signed in Lisbon by the states of Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Portugal and São Tomé and Príncipe.
At that time, Brazil participated only as an observer.
The aim of the initiative is to ensure sporting interaction between the different nationalities and to strengthen the Portuguese-speaking community.
